Kmart Australia has launched the $15 Diamante ballet flats (pictured) and they're already so popular they've sold out online in both colours.

Kmart Australia fans have noticed a stylish new pair of shoes that bear a striking resemblance to a high-end alternative.

The budget retailer launched the Diamante flats for $15 and they’re already so popular that they’ve sold out online in both colors.

Eagle-eyed shoppers were quick to point out that the affordable buy resembles the Khaite Marcy Flats priced at a staggering $1,740.

Both shoes are designed with rhinestone detailing on the mesh construction. However, the Khaite low shoes are made in Italy.

The style blogger, whose Instagram name is ‘Kmart Insider’, highlighted the huge savings opportunity and stressed that you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to look good.

“Walk with a little sparkle in your step. I like the $15 Kmart version better. How about you?” she wrote.

Customers were delighted with the product and admitted they would rush out to buy a pair when it became available.

“I need some of these!” wrote one.

“Oh my god I love these,” said another.

“How beautiful,” wrote a third.

But some weren’t fans of the style.

“Not for me,” one admitted.

“I think they’re all ugly. $1740 OMG how ridiculous,” wrote another.

Department stores have become known for releasing knockoffs of popular products across all categories, from beauty products to fashion to home goods.

Earlier this month, a $15 Kmart bag raised eyebrows for its striking resemblance to an exclusive $20,000 Hermes bag.

The bargain retailer’s Mini Crossbody bag ($15) looks exactly like Hermes’ famous ‘Kelly’ bag, which ranges in price from $20,000 to over $300,000 for certain models.

The brand’s ‘Birkin’ and ‘Kelly’ bags are made in limited quantities and are reportedly only offered to customers who have an extensive shopping history with Hermes.

Both the Hermes and Kmart versions are trapezoid-shaped and close around the mouth with two horizontal straps.

The mini size of the bag means this stylish accessory is perfect for grabbing a quick coffee or storing your phone and wallet when you’re on the go.
