Kmart Australia has sent shoppers scrambling after launching an affordable and conveniently designed cordless spot cleaner.

The $79 product can be used to clean carpets and rugs, car interiors, stairs, fabric upholstery, and more.

The budget retailer demonstrated how shopping works in a video posted to TikTok, which had shoppers eager to buy.

“This is the best way to keep your house spotless,” one woman said in the video.

‘It is wireless, lightweight and very easy to transport. Simply fill with water and a low-foam cleaning solution.’

After using the product to clean a beige sofa, the water turned dark gray after picking up all the dirt from the material.

It is also the perfect alternative to spending thousands of dollars on expensive cleaning equipment and can be used thoroughly on stains or marks.

As the spot cleaner is still new, it hasn’t been launched on Kmart’s website yet, but it is available in stores.

The video quickly caught the attention of others, many of whom were intrigued by the product.

‘By no means! Impressive,’ wrote one.

“Seriously, you now bring out a wireless version when I bought the big wired version like a month ago,” added another.

A third buyer wanted to know when the product will be available in New Zealand. Others tagged friends in the comments.

However, a professional cleaner disapproved of the budget purchase.

“Another problem created to fill the upholstery, carpets and the rest of the customers who come with the do-it-yourself home cleaning machines,” the cleaner wrote.

“The problem is that it is a great idea, but it is not practical as it does not have strong suction and will definitely leave the materials too wet and eventually they will become smelly, moldy and damage some types of materials.”

Others encouraged shoppers to invest in alternative products rather than buying a cheap spot cleaner at Kmart.

“You’ll get 1,000 percent better results with a cheap Bunnings wet/dry vacuum and a spray bottle,” one wrote.

“Weak suction: use strong commercial grade professional equipment,” said another.
