A man is fighting for his life after being beaten by a king and knocked unconscious in one of Sydney’s busiest party areas.
Members of the public performed CPR on the man, 26, in the middle of Enmore St in Newtown, in Sydney’s inner west, following the attack about 11pm on Wednesday.
Paramedics arrived at the scene four minutes later and began treating the man for serious head injuries.
He was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
It is believed that a group of more than two people were involved in the violent assault.
Shocking photographs from the scene showed emergency services working to save the 26-year-old’s life in the middle of the road.
Traffic was blocked in both directions.
Police established the crime scene and will investigate the incident.
