King Charles’s goddaughter, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, separates from Peregrine Pearson, son and heir of the 4th Viscount Cowdray.
When I revealed their romance in 2020, it was hailed as a union of European royalty and one of Britain’s richest aristocratic dynasties.
I am therefore sorry to announce that King Charles’s goddaughter, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, has separated from Peregrine Pearson, son and heir of the 4th Viscount Cowdray.
“They broke up,” a source told me. “Their friends and family hoped their union would lead to marriage, but that wasn’t supposed to happen.”
And in this typically modern confirmation of the end of a relationship, Olympia, the only daughter of Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece and his wife, Marie-Chantal Miller, “unfollowed” Perry, 28, on Instagram and deleted all traces of him on his account on the photo-sharing application on social networks.
Friends began whispering about the state of their relationship when property developer Perry was conspicuously absent from the Chelsea-based model’s 27th birthday party in July.

They haven’t been seen together in public since last November.
For three summers in a row, the couple vacationed together, but this year they went their separate ways.
The princess visited Italy and Greece with family and friends, including actress Poppy Delevingne, who is dating her brother Prince Constantine Alexios.
They were joined by Isabella Massenet, the girlfriend of his other brother, Prince Archi.
Perry, meanwhile, was spending his summer with friends in Cow Neck, New York, as well as in Spain with his family.
He was also at the Burning Man festival in Nevada with a group of pretty young women.
A spokesperson for Olympia, pictured wearing a matching hot pink satin crop top and skirt at the Chanel and W Magazine dinner in New York earlier this week in honor of American filmmaker Sofia Coppola, declined to comment .
Perry is equally discreet.
Last month I revealed that Perry’s mother, Viscountess Cowdray, 63, had split from her husband Michael after 36 years of marriage at Cowdray Park, a 17,000-acre estate in West Sussex .
The artist and sculptor was comforted by her chiropractor.
Former film producer Lord Cowdray, 79, owns a significant share of the Pearson media empire and his fortune is estimated to be worth more than £400 million.
