The Mail on Sunday last night discovered new attacks on the Royal Family in abhorrent books created by artificial intelligence.

Last week, the internet giant came under fire after an investigation by this newspaper exposed offensive AI books about King Charles’ cancer being sold on the website, prompting infuriated Buckingham Palace to consult lawyers.
All of the books were subsequently removed, but Amazon has refused to reveal whether any of the authors’ accounts were suspended or whether the platform would take additional steps to stop the sale of such fake books.
Now the State Department has discovered more AI books that contain offensive slander about the Royal Family and appear to breach Amazon’s own content guidelines.

Former senior military intelligence officer Philip Ingram said: “Needless to say, it is inflammatory nonsense for MI6 to have killed Princess Diana.”
Another fake book is The Biography of Prince William: A Captivating Autobiography of the Future King. He invents outlandish falsehoods about the Princess of Wales during his gap year studying in Florence.
Previous books disguised as legitimate biographies promising “exploration and analysis” of the King’s condition.
Book prices range from £6.99 for an e-book to £15.99 for a paperback, printed and distributed by Amazon.
Within the books were lies that included vivid descriptions of the moment the King learned he had cancer, claiming he felt “fear, anger and despair.”
The book appeared on the website in May 2023, but has not been removed through Amazon’s “proactive” procedures, which aim to ensure its content guidelines are followed.

Hours after being contacted by the MoS, Amazon removed two of the books, but at the time of going to print Prince William’s biography was still on sale.
An Amazon spokesperson said: “We have content guidelines governing which books can be made available for sale, including prohibiting AI-generated content that creates a poor customer experience.”
They added that the company has “proactive and reactive measures to evaluate content” and had removed a number of titles that “violated guidelines.”
