King Charles Opens Up About Cancer Struggles During Meeting with New Zealand Women’s Rugby Team

During a recent meeting with the New Zealand women’s rugby team at Buckingham Palace, King Charles candidly shared details about his ongoing battle with cancer. The monarch revealed that he would not be able to visit New Zealand in October due to “doctor’s orders,” sparking concerns about his health and ongoing treatment.

Despite his health problems, King Charles remained in good spirits and displayed his trademark humour. Speaking to the team, he encouraged them to “make the most of their time” and expressed his hope that they would succeed.

“I am very sorry I cannot come to New Zealand at the end of October by medical order,“But I hope another excuse will appear soon,” Charles said. “In the meantime, please give all my love to New Zealand and New Zealanders. We also get a lot of nice Kiwis who come to this part of the world, so we are very lucky.”

The King also reflected on ageing during the conversation, offering a light-hearted but poignant comment: “And I hope you make the most of your time on the team because you don’t stay young for long, as I found out, everything goes by quicker than you think.” He saidwhich caused laughter from the team, with Charles cracking up. Charles concluded the conversation with good wishes for the team. “I hope they have a lot of success,” he said.

The monarch’s update on his health comes after Buckingham Palace’s announcement in February, when they first shared the news of his cancer diagnosis. As Charles continues his battle, his upbeat attitude and willingness to engage with the public remains evident, even during this difficult time.
