Kim Mulkey has been accused of clashing with players who openly display their sexuality and attacking a former Baylor star after discovering she was gay in the Washington Post“The ‘key piece’ on LSU coach”.
Rumors surfaced last week that the Post was planning to publish a story about Mulkey, who threatened to sue the newspaper if they published information she considers “false.”
Despite the threat of legal action, the story in question was finally published on Saturday: the 61-year-old was accused of treating gay members of her team more harshly than others.
Kelli Griffin, who played for Mulkey at Baylor from 2007 to 2010, claims her former coach made her life “hell” after finding out she was gay.
While praising her for being an “incredible coach,” Griffin suggested that Mulkey drew attention to her clothing and gave her a career-ending suspension only after learning of her sexuality.
