Kim Kardashian, who was seen here in LA on Friday night, has said talking about her sex tape in KUWTK’s very first series helped her deal with her emotions
Kim Kardashian West has said that talking about her infamous sex tape in the very first series of Keeping Up with the Kardashians helped her deal with her emotions.
The 40-year-old reality star filmed a sex tape with her then-boyfriend Ray J in 2002, which was released into the public domain in 2007, just as Kim and her family were getting ready to start the first series of their E! reality show.
Kim famously spoke about the tape during an early episode of the series when her sister Kourtney Kardashian asked her why she agreed to film the video, and she said, “Because I was horny and I felt like it.”
And now Kim has said that talking about difficult topics on the show has helped her come to terms with events in her life.
She explained during an interview with the Los Angeles Times, “I think, of course, as producers, I’m sure they loved it. and loved [us] want to talk about the elephant in the room. And I probably wouldn’t have done that unless it was for show.
“Sometimes I feel like, ‘Okay, I know I probably need to fix this. Someone’s going to ask me, so I might as well go ahead and do it.’
“In a way, filming has helped us deal with things, rather than sweeping them under the rug. At the end of the day I was always open and honest and wanted to share what I was going through. I wouldn’t hold back.’

While executive producer Farnaz Farjam also spoke to the publication about Kim’s decision to discuss the tape, as Kim was initially “conflicted about it.”
Farnaz said, “I remember Kim being conflicted about that because she hated everything that was going on around that band. We were all talking about ‘We just need to own all the controversy around this family’ and jumped both feet in the first episode. Then the public can get to know them on a much deeper level than the headlines.’
