A transgender pedophile murderer who brutally raped a three-month-old baby is asking to be released from prison to attend an indigenous ceremony.
Tara Desousa, 43, has asked the Federal Court of Canada to overturn a decision by the Fraser Valley Institution that denied her “temporary absences.”
Desousa, then known as Adam Laboucan, was 15 years old when he sexually assaulted a baby he was caring for in Quesnel, British Columbia, in 1997.
Due to the horrific nature of his crime, the baby had to undergo reconstructive surgery to repair the injuries sustained in the diabolical attack.
During her trial she also confessed to drowning a three-year-old boy when she was 11, and her crimes made her Canada’s youngest “dangerous offender.”
In an October filing, she said she first applied for accompanied leave to attend a ceremony at the Anderson Lodge ‘women’s healing center’ in August 2023.

He added that “many people who come to our facilities are dealing with great historical trauma.”
Thomas added that the society seeks to take a “holistic” approach to helping people heal through ceremonies.
According to the CEO, the group “leaves final judgment to the creator” and there are strict conditions and protocols for violators.
He added: “I understand and see both sides and many times it is very difficult to put aside our judgments.”
“But at the same time we work with them and believe that everyone has an opportunity for change.”
Desousa underwent so-called “gender affirmation surgery” while behind bars in 2018 and is currently serving an indefinite sentence.
In imposing his sentence, Judge Victor Curtis ruled that there was no “foreseeable time frame in which Adam Laboucan could be cured.”

He has been denied several attempts at parole, most of them in June of this year.
The Parole Board of Canada said his victim had suffered “pain, anxiety and distress and long-term emotional impacts as a result of his offending.”
Another parole board rejected her in 2010, citing “bizarre sexual behavior,” which they believed posed a threat to the public.
