Torilena May Fields, 32, pleaded not guilty to charges accusing her of murdering her mother and then dismembering and cooking parts of her body.

Relatives of a woman accused of killing and cooking the dismembered parts of her mother’s body were shocked to see her calm in court.

Torilena May Fields, 32, was charged with murder after police found her mother, Trudy, 68, lying in her backyard and body parts cooked in a pot on October 9.

He made his first court appearance Tuesday, looking drastically different than he appeared in his mugshot, and pleaded not guilty to the charges. fox 56 reported.

Fields’ family was stunned by the change in his appearance and noted that he did not appear to express any remorse and did not appear to be mentally ill.

‘It seems like nothing is happening. She was alert, she paid attention to the judge. I didn’t see anything about her being psychopathic or mental. He was talking to the judge like a human being. I thought she would be crazy,” said her uncle Todd Brock.

‘I’m sorry for the girl, but my sister is my sister. Children don’t do that to their mother.

He is due back in court on March 10 and his lawyer Laura Fitzer said his next steps are to gather more evidence and investigate.

“What we’re doing right now is sending boots on the ground and getting some evidence from the Commonwealth and what they want to use to prove a murder against Torilena,” Fitzer said.

“We’re really ready to get as much information as we can to represent her as best we can and really tell her story — that’s the most important thing.”

Family and friends said Fields grew up as a stereotypical “country girl” with loving parents.

They said her problems began after she moved to California to pursue a career as an actress and singer under the name Naomi Navarre.

Kentucky State Police responded to Fields’ childhood home on Oct. 9 after a man working on the property followed drag marks in the grass and found Trudy’s dismembered body in the backyard.

Trudy’s arms, legs, and head separated from her body. The worker also discovered a pile of hair believed to be hers.

He told state police he was on the property the day before and saw Trudy and Fields.

“On (Oct. 8), (the witness) said Fields was hexing them and being confrontational,” police officers noted in the citation.

Police obtained a search warrant and entered the home after they were unable to contact Fields.
