Heartbroken KIIS FM radio host announces shocking divorce from long-term partner: ‘I imagined our life together’
KIIS FM star Mitch Churi has ended his five-year relationship with his boyfriend, Haydn Hickson.
The radio host made the sad announcement on his radio show, The pickupalongside his co-stars Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne.
The 27-year-old got tearful and blocked at some points as he explained that the pair were ‘not in the same place’ and he decided to take time for the romance.
“I pictured our life together. It feels like a middle-level heterosexual divorce. And we weren’t even married, but I was imagining our life together,” the heartbroken star said.
“I was thinking about proposing, we talked about adopting kids, surrogacy,” he continued.

“You have that vision, the image of your future life, and in one night it can be taken away.”
Mitch admitted that he was still in love with Haydn, which made the split even more difficult.
“It’s so hard to end a relationship when you still love someone. We had so much love, and that’s where the confusion and pain comes from,” he said.

He also explained that the couple was separating their belongings on a spreadsheet to find out who keeps what item, a process he called “appalling.”
The radio host went on to say that he came out as gay “before the relationship” and that all his experiences as a gay man were with Haydn.
Among the other struggles in their split, Mitch said he was processing the complex feelings that come with it.
Mitch finished off the announcement by confessing to using the celebrity dating app Raya.
