Kieran McKenna has emerged as a surprise candidate to replace Gareth Southgate as England manager, according to reports.
The Three Lions are on the hunt for a new first-team coach within eight years following the resignation of Gareth Southgate following their Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.
Names such as Graham Potter, Eddie Howe and Lee Carsley have all been in discussions over who should succeed Southgate, but now McKenna joins that list.

They also claim that FA technical director John McDermott is considered “a big fan” of McKenna, having worked together when the latter was youth coach at Tottenham.

The FA are also said to not believe the next manager should be English, giving Northern Irishman McKenna a good chance.
Following his impressive work at Portman Road, a number of Premier League sides were linked with McKenna, however, as a result, the 38-year-old signed a new contract in May.

His work at Ipswich has taken them back to the top flight for the first time since 2001-02.
