Kiefer Sutherland caught a glimpse in Los Angeles this week during his first public sighting since his mother Shirley Douglas died of pneumonia complications at the age of 86.
The 53-year-old actor and country singer seemed to be comforting himself in music when he saw his guitar on the street.
He could be seen talking to his actress girlfriend Cindy Vela, 41, with whom he’s been since 2014.

Kiefer announced his mother’s death on Twitter on April 5, just three days after the actress and activist turned 86.
“This morning, my mother, Shirley Douglas, died of complications from pneumonia (unrelated to COVID19),” he wrote.
“My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived an extraordinary life. Unfortunately, she had been fighting for her health for quite some time and we as a family knew that this day would come ‘, the icon continued.
“To families who have unexpectedly lost loved ones to the corona virus, my heart breaks for you. Please stay safe. ‘

Shirley had Kiefer and his twin sister Rachel with her second husband Donald Sutherland, whom she was married from 1966 to 1970.
As a film actress, she starred in films such as David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers and Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of the novel Vladimir Nabokov Lolita.
Shirley was known for her stage work, and she and Kiefer played the mother-son roles in Tennessee Williams’ play The Glass Menagerie.

Like her children, she came from famous origins as the daughter of politician Tommy Douglas, known in Canada as the ‘Father Of Medicare’.
Along with Kiefer and Rachel, Shirley is survived by her son Thomas Emil Sicks through her first marriage to Timothy Emil Sicks brewery heir.
