A driver has been embarrassed after her vehicle got stuck at a KFC drive-thru because her interlock device failed.

The Victorian mother stopped at the fast food restaurant’s drive-thru to order a meal.

She was then reminded to blow into her interlock device in order to continue driving her car.”

Interlock devices are electronic breath test devices linked to the ignition system of cars, motorcycles and heavy duty vehicles.

A driver must return a blood alcohol level of zero to start the car and must return a negative breath sample regularly or the engine will stall.

The driver apologized profusely when she tried several times to breathe into her interlock device while trapped at the drive-thru.

Her passenger filmed the embarrassing incident as she laughed uncontrollably.

“F***, I’m sorry man,” the driver said. ‘Usually it doesn’t take me that long. You make me nervous.’

The KFC employee assures the woman through the speaker that she is fine and offers her words of encouragement.

“You’re fine, you have his,” he said.

The driver blows into the interlock device one last time before it finally beeps and starts working again.

She then again apologized to the fast food attendant.

“You don’t tell everyone, do you?” asked the driver.

A colleague then assured the woman over the speaker that everything was fine and that she happened to know someone who also had an interlock in his car.

“Interlock, annoying, isn’t it?” said the driver.

Footage of the incident was shared on TikTok, where social media users were quick to praise the KFC employee for his supportive comments.

“Supporting King lmao,” one wrote.

Others told the driver not to worry because they had been in similar situations.

“I understand your pain. I have one too,” one person wrote.

Another added: ‘Relax we have all crammed into life’.
