In Peter Five Eight, Spacey plays a hitman who infiltrates a small town at the behest of his mysterious boss to murder a real estate agent named Sam – an unhinged alcoholic with a very dark secret.
Peter Five Eight is Spacey’s second major film since the assault allegations against him following The Man Who Drew God, released in November 2022.
DailyMail.com exclusively revealed in September 2023 that Spacey was plotting a return to Hollywood.
He was dramatically exonerated of the crime of sexually assaulting four men on July 26, when the jury at London’s Southwark Crown Court returned a verdict of not guilty on all counts.
Spacey was accused of abusing his fame and power to commit nine sexual assaults against four men during his tenure as artistic director of the Old Vic theater. But he insisted the claims were “madness” and accused the claimants of “lying for money”.
On the court steps after the verdicts were handed down, The Usual Suspects actor thanked the jury and his legal team, as well as his loyal manager and longtime friend Evan Lowenstein for supporting him.
He said: “I imagine many of you can understand that there is a lot to process after what just happened today.
“But I would like to say that I am extremely grateful to the jury for taking the time to carefully consider all of the evidence and facts before making their decision.”

“I am touched by today’s result. I also want to thank the staff at this courthouse, security, my legal team and Evan Lowenstein for being here every day.
The allegations not only destroyed what had been a successful showbiz career, but also had major financial implications, with the star ordered to pay £25.5million to House of Cards producers after being sacked from the hit series.
He also received at least £1 million in defense costs and suffered the humiliation of being excluded from Sir Ridley Scott’s film All the Money in the World. Earlier in the trial, Spacey told the jury, “I lost everything.”
After the not guilty verdicts, Spacey placed his hand on his chest, looked at the jury and said “thank you” twice before leaving the room.
