The Portuguese centre-back forged a brilliant partnership with City team-mate John Stones at the heart of Guardiola’s defence, who played a key role in their rise to the title.

England captain Kane finished as the league’s top scorer and assist maker this season, with 23 goals and 14 set-ups for Tottenham this season. However, Tottenham finished seventh this season, which could hurt their chances of winning the individual trophy.
Like De Bruyne, Chelsea midfielder Mount finished the season with six goals to his name after another promising season at Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old provided six more assists and will now play an important role in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Liverpool winger Salah finished second to Tottenham’s Kane in the top goalscorer list with 22 goals, although Jurgen Klopp’s Reds flopped in their title defense to finish in third place.
