A Sydney rapist who attempted to kill his teenage victim at the hands of a hitman is to be kept on a tight leash after his release from prison after the state successfully applies for a control order.
Kevin Bo Anton was released in June 2021 after serving 18 years in prison for the repeated rape of a 16-year-old girl and attempting to escape justice by killing her at the hands of a contract killer.
He was arrested in 2003 after he and another man repeatedly raped a 16-year-old girl in North Bondi.
While in jail, he tried to hire a hitman but his cellmate tipped off his plot to the police and he was later caught in a police sting.

After taking her mobile phone, Bo Anton told her, “If she says anything to the police we will kill her because you could spend less years for murder than for rape” and threatened to throw her body into a river.
Bo Anton slapped the girl before he and the other man repeatedly assaulted the girl, despite her protests to stop.
The victim reported the attack to the police and Bo Anton and his accomplice were identified and arrested using his car registration and mobile phone records.
They were also caught on police tape while discussing the incident.
While on remand, Bo Anton gave details of the girl to his cellmate, which he wanted to pass on to a hitman.
But his cellmate gave the information to the police instead.
A wiretap planted in his cell catches him planning to pay $23,000, including a $3,000 down payment, to kill the girl.
‘I just want to kill that motherfucker,’ he said to his cellmate, ‘I want to kill her.
He was caught on the same listening device talking to an undercover cop about the plot and that he wanted him to “hammer her in the stomach” and “I want her to feel a lot of pain.”
“Tell her it’s from, it’s from Michael,” he said, referring to the fake name he told the girl.
He pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault and solicitation to murder before being sentenced to 19 years in prison, with a non-parole period of 14 years.

The state has applied to the NSW High Court for orders that would allow them to monitor his details amid fears he could abuse him again.
During a year-long legal process, the state applied to have him placed under a three-year extended supervision order under the High Dangerous Offenders Act.
Attorneys representing Bou Anton said he should only be subject to two years’ probation orders.
But in orders issued by Justice Peter Garling on Friday, the Supreme Court granted the state an oversight order for three years, set to expire in July 2025.
The conditions include that he wear an electronic monitoring device until June of this year and not be in possession of a prohibited weapon.
Judge Garling also refused to issue other orders proposed by the state including that Bo Anton provide information about his financial affairs and that he not be associated with anyone who drinks alcohol.
