Singer and activist John Legend continued his long-running feud with former President Donald Trump, calling him a “staunch and proven racist” in an interview Sunday.
Legend, 45, and his wife, model and author Chrissy Teigen, have long professed their disdain for Trump, and the former commander in chief even responded once.
Speaking with former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, the ‘All of You’ singer continued his repeated claims that Trump is racially biased when asked about Trump’s complaints about the American justice system.
“He’s made it clear throughout his life that black people are inferior, he believes it deep down, deep down… but also when you listen to some of the comments he makes, he clearly believes in a genetic hierarchy of humanity.” and he’s racially determined, so he’s a tried and true, hardcore racist,” Legend said.
Legend believes this negates any benefits the African-American community may have had under the Trump administration.

Legend was talking about his efforts to push for criminal justice reform and said Trump is, in some ways, right that the justice system is unfair.
‘There is a two-tier justice system, but not in the way he thinks. He is the beneficiary, absolutely… the fact that he is in the world is not normal for a lot of people.”
“He’s been getting away with it for a long time, he’s been a con artist for a long time, he’s been fooling people for a long time, he’s been lying for a long time and, in fact, he’s been litigating for a long time,” he added. .
Legend, born John Roger Stephens, has been speaking out against Trump since he began running for public office.
His belief that Trump is racist dates back to at least 2016, when he got into a fight with Trump’s son, Don Jr, with whom the singer was a classmate at the University of Pennsylvania.
The singer even said he ended his friendship with rapper Ye, formerly Kanye West, because of his support for the former president.
The legend even once went so far as to call Trump “a passionate racist.” He’s a piece of shit.’

Perhaps most strangely, the couple’s feud with Trump made it into the ‘Twitter archives’, a series of revelations about liberal bias on the social media platform now known as X.
Trump had referenced the model in his own 2019 tweet, where he tagged her husband, musician John Legend, and referenced his “dirty wife.” That prompted Teigen to respond online: ‘hahaha what a f**** a** b****’; In a comment, the official said the White House wanted to eliminate it.

A Twitter ‘whistleblower’ testified that the White House sought to have the company remove a 2019 tweet from Chrissy Teigen that called then-President Donald Trump a ‘b**** a** b****.’ It came at a hearing organized to shed light on the suppression of a report about Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Another lawmaker, Florida Democratic Rep. Maxwell Frost, managed to get Teigen’s precise tweet included in the congressional record.
‘Would you like me to give you the direct quote?’ the witness asked him, prompting him to say that he would do it.
“Please excuse my language, this is a direct quote, but Chrissy Teigen referred to Donald Trump as a “b**** a** b****.”
“Okay, freedom of speech,” Frost responded.
Teigen responded to a clip of the exchange on the platform on Tuesday, writing, “I…oh my god.”
He also posted a clip on his Instagram account. “I don’t know how to move on after this,” she wrote.
