Kerr reveals the moment he was most angry with Draymond Originally appeared in NBC Bay Area Sports
There were a few moments when Warriors coach Steve Kerr grew frustrated with veteran forward Draymond Green, but one stands out above the rest.
Kerr appeared in the latest episode of “Dan Le Batard show with Stugotz,” where he was asked at what point in his 10 seasons as Green’s coach was he most angry with the fiery forward.
“Well, there are many examples,” Kerr said with a laugh.
“I think the Jordan Poole incident is for sure. Draymond and I are a lot alike in a lot of ways, people probably wouldn’t see it from the outside, but we’re both manic competitors and we’ve lost our minds at each other, during games, over any disagreement on strategy. But he crossed the line with Jordan and he knows it, he knew it right away. And that made that season incredibly difficult for everybody. That story has been regurgitated a lot of times, but that was probably the moment I was the angriest.”
The timing was not only detrimental to the Warriors’ 2022-23 NBA season, for Green’s admissionBut it was the most serious altercation Green has been involved in throughout his 12-year NBA career.
This incident, and others over the years, are well documented and will follow the four-time NBA All-Star for the rest of his career.
However, Green’s role as an enforcer was vital during each of the Warriors’ four championship runs and will be equally important in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
