She told earlier OKAY! magazine: ‘It went very quickly. This is not the way I thought things would happen. He literally came off that tour and went downhill. I was so shocked – I was beside myself because it happened within a week.

‘But I think that’s typical Tom style. He didn’t want to put me through misery, it was like he was like, “Okay, let’s do this real quick too. I’ve ticked the tour and I’m going now.”

‘I say he lived fast, even his death was fast. Those first few weeks after his death I was just in shock.’

And Kelsey thinks Tom – who received his diagnosis in October 2020 – was “hugely shocked” at his rapid decline.

Meanwhile, Kelsey plans to have Tom’s ashes turned into jewelry for herself and her children.

She said, “It will be something very special for the kids to have and it will be given to them at some point, but I don’t know when.”
