Kelsea Ballerini took to social media on Thursday to promote her upcoming album Patterns, due out this fall.
The 30-year-old country music star, who is dating Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes, took to Instagram to announce that her next single, Sorry Mom, is due out on Friday.
And the blonde beauty revealed the album’s cover art, which is a moody snap of her sitting on a pile of luggage on a beach as the sun sets.
‘PATRONS. October 25th. Sorry mom, I’m leaving at midnight tonight. Let’s start unpacking…’ she joked in a message to her 4.1 million followers.
Ballerini, who joined The Voice as a judge, told the Associated Press As for new music, “I think people probably expect a very carefree, lovey-dovey, mushy, gushy record from me. That’s not the case.”

Ballerini invited her fans to join a streaming party for her new single.
“You’re invited to a Sorry Mom Stationhead Streaming Party,” the flyer read, including the information: “Friday 8/9 5pm ET/4pm CT/2pm PT.”
The singer-songwriter explained to AP why she is proud of her new collection of songs.
“I think it would have been easy to just put together the really beautiful parts of my life that I’ve dusted off and found over the years. But that’s not the totality of my experience,” she said.
Prior to Sorry Mom, Kelsea previously released Cowboys Cry Too, which features Noah Kahan.
On Thursday, Kelsea took to Instagram Stories to preview her new song, saying that it’s “maybe my favorite song I’ve ever written.”
In one part he sings: “Everything turned out okay / So you can sleep well at night / Maybe I ran all the red lights / Maybe we fought a few times.”
Sharing more about the number, she shared, “The first line goes, ‘I’m sorry, mom, I smelled like cigarettes.’ You know, it’s the stuff that your mother doesn’t really want to hear. But then you get to the chorus and the essence and the heart of the song, and it’s a letter of gratitude to my mother for raising me the way she did.”

Through her Instagram Stories, she shared a selfie inside an elevator and wrote: ‘goodbye New York’.
Kelsea teased her new song, saying it’s “maybe my favorite song I’ve ever written.”
In mid-July, the veteran artist wowed her online audience by sharing behind-the-scenes snaps of her new gig on The Voice.
NBC announced in early June that she will make her debut on season 27 of the music competition, alongside returning judge Adam Levine.
They will be joined by Michael Buble and John Legend when the show revives in spring 2025.
Sharing the BTS snaps, Kelsea wrote: “plot twist… it works,” along with a white heart emoji.
