Kelly Rowland took to social media to warn her fans not to fall for a phishing scam involving a fake account trying to impersonate her and her old friend Beyoncé.
On Friday, the singer, 43, exposed a profile posing as herself and Queen Bey, 43, by posting a screenshot of a message a scammer sent to one of her followers asking for money.
The scammer sent a direct message to one of her fans asking: “Hey, I’m Kelly from Destiny’s Child, I lost my credit card and I need money for a single ticket (sic) so I can fly to your city and perform.” Can you send me some money? I’ll bring Beyoncé.
In a follow-up message, the scammer deceptively claimed they were Beyoncé.
Rowland wrote over the screenshot: ‘FAKE AF!!’
‘Be careful here!’ added the mother of two. ‘And don’t think I know how to spell PLANE!’
