Kelly Ripa reacted to her daughter Lola Consuelos’ topless bikini photo on Thursday.
The 53-year-old talk show host expressed her thoughts with a comment under her and her 23-year-old daughter Mark Consuelos’ Instagram post of a sunny day by the pool.
In the cover photo of her carousel, Lola stripped down and could be seen lying on a beach towel without her bikini top while sunbathing.
“Is this demure?” the singer, who shared rare photos with British boyfriend Cassius Kidston on his birthday last month, captioned her post, referencing the recent viral trend on social media.
Following the same trend, Ripa commented: “It’s a very conscious thing.”

The “very demure, very conscious” trend is a viral catchphrase, coined by content creator Jools Lebron, now widely used to satirize stereotypical ideas of femininity and subtly joke about being “demure, conscious and cheesy” while boldly doing the opposite.
Social media users now use the phrase to poke fun at their ironically not-so-demure and not-so-conscious posts or to criticize other people for their perhaps questionable actions.
The musician wore her dark hair pulled back and tied under a colorful scarf.
Lola’s saucy post follows the trend as she shared bikini-clad photos of herself sporting a pair of dark sunglasses and statement earrings for her day out relaxing on a lush daybed.
In the second photograph of her series, Lola was seen lying in the same position but this time, wearing her olive green bikini.
In addition to Lola, Ripa and Consuelos are also parents to sons Michael, 27, and Joaquin, 21.
The longtime couple, who have been married for nearly three decades since tying the knot in 1996, recently opened up about their parenting style regarding their children’s dating.
On the June 6 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the couple revealed that they try to stay out of their children’s love lives.

“Well, listen to this,” Ripa told her husband and co-host. “The show Indian Matchmaking brought it to the forefront by showing people what arranged marriage is all about. The national average for divorce is about 50 percent. The divorce rate in arranged marriages is four percent. So parents know what they’re talking about.”
Consuelos then asked him: ‘Would we do that for our children?’
In response, Ripa said: “I think we would choose the kids that our kids are with, we would choose them. If I could have chosen them personally… but I don’t want to say that.”
She added that whether they like who their son is dating or not, it’s hard to tell them what’s best for them.
“You don’t want to say too much because you already know what it’s like. So you have to act differently.”
In addition to Lola, Ripa and Consuelos are also parents to sons Michael, 27, and Joaquin, 21.
Consuelos agreed, adding: “If you have any comments, you will pass them on to that person.”
The couple then shared their consensus that the best thing they can do is “not say anything” regarding their children’s love lives.
“Yes, if you don’t like someone your child is with and you express that to them, they get upset,” Ripa said.
“But if you like them too much, then you think, ‘Hmm… Why does my mom like them?’ So we don’t say anything.”
