Kelly Hoppen has insisted she will always be Sienna Miller's stepmother despite her divorce from her father Ed Miller in 2003.

Kelly Hoppen has opened up about why she will always see Sienna Miller as her stepdaughter, even though she is no longer married to her father.

The Princess of Wales’s favorite interior designer, Kelly Hoppen, was previously married to Hollywood actress Sienna’s father, former American banker and art dealer Edwin Miller.

The couple married in 1989, when the actress was only six years old and her sister Savannah was seven.

And even though the couple divorced in 2003, Kelly, 64, hates being called the former stepmother of Sienna, 42, and her sister, bridal wear designer Savannah, 45.

She explained: “I’ve never understood when people say Sienna’s ex-stepmother because if you love a child and you’re there for most of their childhood, you can’t just turn them off.”

“Ed and I parted on good terms and Savannah calls me Mama K and Sienna calls me Celtic Wizard; we have nicknames for each other.”

Discussing how attitudes towards ‘blended families’ were different in the 1990s, Kelly added: ‘You have to remember I’m 64 and being a stepmother to them wasn’t normal back then, these kinds of extended families.

“When I was at the school gates, they looked at me in a bad light as if I were the other woman, and it was hard for me.”

Kelly, who has a biological daughter, food writer Natasha Corrett, says: “If I didn’t have Sienna or Savannah, I would have felt cheated by not having another child.”

Speaking about her relationship with Savannah and Sienna in the Mail’s Sunday YOU magazine in 2020, Kelly said: ‘She [Savannah] and his sister (the actress) Sienna are and always will be two of the most precious people in my life, although I have been divorced from their father Edwin for 17 years.

‘She calls me Mama K and I call her Sasa. “She and Sienna always send me cards and flowers on Mother’s Day, which really touches my heart.”

Meanwhile, Sienna recently expanded her family, after welcoming a baby girl with her boyfriend Oli Green, 27.

The couple were photographed with their newborn in January while making a stylish outing to a cafe in west London wearing a khaki coat and denim jumpsuit and a £3,300 Artipoppe designer baby carrier strapped to her.

The actress already has a daughter, Marlowe, 10, from her previous relationship with actor Tom Sturridge, 38.

Sienna’s pregnancy was revealed during a beach vacation in August, where she emerged sporting a baby bump.

In December, Sienna covered Vogue when she spoke for the first time about her pregnancy and revealed that she was having a girl.

In incredible photos taken to accompany the interview, she showed off her bare belly alongside Marlowe and her boyfriend Oli.

Sienna spoke candidly about her pregnancy and how it had been “unplanned”, but admitted she feels “more prepared psychologically” than with her firstborn.

During the rare interview, Sienna said that Marlowe has been looking for a brother for some time.

Sienna also said that she had been struggling with her own prejudices about being an older mother and that she has to learn to stop making a joke of it.

She told the publication: “I would love to get to a point where I didn’t feel the need to make a joke about being older and having a baby, to show that I’m in on the joke.”

And in a video she filmed with Vogue, Sienna revealed that the pregnancy was unplanned.

She revealed: ‘I was very lucky. I wasn’t necessarily trying to get pregnant. This happened as a complete surprise and biologically it was something I could do.”
