Emberg also had a sizzling romance with British rocker Rod Stewart starting in 1983. They welcomed daughter Ruby in 1987, but then separated in 1990.

She introduced her to John Casablancas, who moved her to New York City to join his main modeling agency, Elite Model Management.
Her career took off when she appeared on the cover of Vogue several times and Cosmopolitan, as well as the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
Her campaigns were also big as she worked for Calvin Klein and Cover Girl.
