The Kelly Clarkson Show has launched a coveted new timeslot for Fall 2022.

The talk show will fill the void Ellen DeGeneres has left after finishing her 19-year run next year, it was announced Wednesday.

DeGeneres said she quit because she didn’t feel ‘challenged’, but many think she ended her run because she was accused of creating a ‘toxic’ work environment that caused her ratings to drop.

Clarkson’s show has become a hit thanks to her winning personality, casual interview style, and high profile celebrity guests.

It is currently in its second season and was extended at the end of last year for two additional runs through 2023.

New: The Kelly Clarkson Show has landed a new timeslot for fall 2022. The talk show will fill the void Ellen has left after Ellen DeGeneres completes her run next year, it was announced Wednesday.

These are notable performances for a second season talk show. We look forward to the 19th season of Ellen DeGeneres teaming up with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster hit, ” said Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Local.

“By 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the star of our daytime entertainment program and an asset to our early afternoon news broadcasts.”

There were rumors that Drew Barrymore or Tiffany Haddish would take Ellen’s time slot, but that turned out not to be true.

Ellen will end her show in 2022 after 19 years.

The TV host confirmed in mid-May that the upcoming 19th series of The Ellen DeGeneres Show will be her last, and she is ‘forever grateful’ to her fans for ‘changing her life’ by watching the program.

Praise: 'These are remarkable performances for a talk show in the second season. We look forward to the 19th season of Ellen DeGeneres teaming up with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster hit, '' said Valari Staab, president, NBCUniversal Local.

In a pre-recorded video of her show, shared on her Twitter account, she told her virtual audience, ‘I announce that next season, Season 19, will be my final season.

So you should know that the past 18 years have changed my life. You all changed my life. I am forever grateful to all of you for watching, laughing and dancing, sometimes crying. This show has been the greatest experience of my life, and I owe it all to you. So thank you. ‘

Ellen – who is married to Portia de Rossi – thought ‘for a while’ about the decision, but also admitted that when she wrote a three-season extension two years ago, she knew the 19th series would be her last.

She added: ‘I’ve been thinking a lot about this decision, I’ve been sitting with it for a while.

‘I meditated on it, I spoke to Portia, I spoke to myself. Two years ago, I signed a deal for another three years, and I always knew in my heart that Season 19 would be my last.

‘Nineteen is a great number. The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote, and I think women should be allowed to vote. You may be wondering why I decided to quit after 19 seasons and the truth is I always trust my instincts. My instincts told me it is time. I really felt that next season was the right time to close this great chapter.

‘I promise you that we will have a fantastic final season. It will be a season where I can really say thank you. Every day will be a celebration. ‘

It comes after Ellen recently praised Portia for her help with ‘keeping up [her] going ‘last year after former employees of her talk show accused some of the show’s producers – who have since been fired – of creating a’ toxic ‘work environment.

She said, “It broke my heart; I couldn’t have gone through everything I’ve been through without her.

“It was a terrible time in my life, and she was a rock. She kept me going and tried to help me put things in perspective. ‘

In September, Ellen addressed the allegations of the ‘toxic’ work environment during the season 18 premiere.

‘I’ve learned that things have happened here that should never have happened. I take that very seriously, and I want to say that I am so sorry to the people who have been affected. I know that I am in a position of privilege and power and I realize that comes with responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens on my show.

This is The Ellen DeGeneres Show. I am Ellen DeGeneres. We’ve had a lot of conversations in recent weeks about the show, our workplace and what we want for the future. We have made the necessary changes and today we are starting a new chapter. ‘
