Earlier this year, Kellogg’s was forced to recall its chocolate Corn Flakes cereal due to a major “quality defect.”

The Food Standards Agency, the government’s health watchdog, advised buyers to throw away the 450g packets and ask for a full refund.

Chicago-based Kellanova, formerly the Kellogg Company and maker of Kellogg’s cereals in Europe, said it is “voluntarily recalling Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavored Cereal due to a quality defect.”

The company said: ‘This voluntary consumer recall relates to Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Chocolate flavour cereal, which is a new product available for purchase from January 2024 and is available from Tesco, One Stop, Londis, Budgens, Booker Premier stores and Booker Cash & Carry outlets.’

The boxes affected by the recall have expiration dates from December 6, 2024 to April 28, 2025.

Kellanova continued: ‘Following some consumer complaints, the company discovered that a small proportion of boxes may contain hard pieces of cereal that did not disintegrate when consumed with milk.

“This means there is minimal risk that these hard lumps could cause dental damage or pose a choking hazard.”
