Keke Palmer Keke defends relationship with ABC after Strahan, Sara and Keke are canceled

Keke Palmer shoots meme suggesting her ABC talk show was canceled for speaking out against racism during the recent Black Lives Matter movement

Earlier this month, it was announced that ABC’s GMA morning show – Strahan, Sara and Keke – had been canceled despite good reviews.

The news came just weeks after host Michael Strahan told an ABC / Disney anti-racism symposium that he felt he couldn’t “speak or raise his voice” with studio managers for fear of being perceived as black man.

Now co-presenter Keke Palmer has taken to social media to address speculation that she may have played a part in the show to get the ax for speaking out against racism during the recent revival of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Palmer posted a meme saying “It’s not strange how Keke Palmer was seen protesting and preaching about racism in our country and ABC decides to cancel her show” on her Instagram page on Saturday.

“I just want to talk about this because I hate the story that if you express your opinion as a black person, you will be somehow punished,” Palmer, 26, began in the caption.

“I’ve seen this go around and initially I ignored it, but in this climate I realized this is a dangerous message to send to our generation and the next generation.”

The Illinois resident went on to share how she thought her words during the BLM protest showed the companies that she worked with how important “her voice is and everyone with a POV.”

“The reality is that I was never signed to SSK, like a seasonal show. This company is dynamic and instead of seeing me as a ‘regular series’ I see myself as a brand working with the Disney / ABC News company and this particular show that I attended is no longer. ‘

It is at this point that Palmer compared the meme’s comments to being afraid of mongering and saying “so that no one ever feels or thinks that speaking will cost them the job!”

“I’m sure it can and should be sooner, but let’s also acknowledge when it isn’t. That way, more of us with our own minds are speaking out against all the injustices we see, ”she added.

“Believe me, walking in my truth has always FLOODED my blessings and connect with those who are like-minded and not those who are not. Don’t believe this lie. Stay courageous and stay true, for GOD ALWAYS HAS YOU. ‘

A source said Page six‘[Pandemic] was initially intended as a two-week experiment ‘, but the show eventually got a good rating.

ABC is now expected to make the lineup permanent, while Strahan will still host Good Morning America.

Strahan shared his concerns about inequality on the network at a June 4 anti-racism symposium for all ABC and Disney employees and Bob Iger, executive chairman of The Walt Disney Company.

Insiders claim that Strahan was referring to his time as a co-host of Live With Kelly And Michael from 2012 to 2016, which ended when he abruptly left the show to move to GMA full-time.
