Keith Urban is reportedly glad that his wife Nicole Kidman’s latest age-gap rom-com failed to please critics.
The 57-year-old Hollywood star’s new Netflix film, A Family Affair, starring Zac Efron, 36, received a poor critical reception and the country musician is “secretly excited” about it, according to New Idea magazine.
Efron takes on the role of vain movie star Chris Cole, while Kidman plays writer Brook Harwood, who is the mother of his long-suffering assistant Zara (Joey King).
A source told the magazine he was not happy with Keith, 56, seeing his wife getting closer to Zac, after the pair last played lovers 12 years ago in popular crime drama The Paperboy.
“He trusts Nicole absolutely, but he was nervous to see her so comfortable with Zac on screen a second time,” the source said.
“I probably won’t be making a third one, which, deep down, has made Keith extremely happy – something he’ll have to keep to himself, of course!”
Kidman and Efron do their best to heat things up in Netflix’s highly-anticipated May-December rom-com A Family Affair, but the result is a lukewarm romance.
Their characters fall together in a somewhat drunken relationship, but after a steamy start, their on-screen chemistry quickly cools.

This comes after Nicole revealed that her daughters Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith Margaret, 13, give her honest feedback when she asks them.
Talking with PeopleShe said her daughters are “very supportive” of her, but they also express their criticisms without filter.
“But they also say, ‘OK, calm down,'” said the Australian actress, who shares two daughters with husband Keith.
“But I think it’s important not to have sycophants around you.”
Nicole and Keith also celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on June 25.
The Practical Magic star said it’s not about “looking for really horrible reviews.”
