A Pakistani man who was allegedly deported from the US following the 9/11 attacks is now charged with killing his American wife – after officers caught him burying her naked body in a grave early on Sunday .
Kazim Kamal Khan, 50, was apprehended in the act just after 2am and has since confessed to killing his ex-spouse – identified as Diana Christo Khan, 50.
He reportedly told cops he lured her overseas by pretending to be seriously ill.
The dramatic arrest unfolded in the eastern city of Lahore, Pakistan, when a police patrol responded to a call from an unnamed gravedigger at the Ghazi Road cemetery – reporting that a man was carrying out a burial without observe proper funeral rites.
When Punjab police arrived, they found Khan partially submerged in a shallow grave and his wife’s lifeless body wrapped in a sheet.

At first, he allegedly told them that his wife – who he said had remained in the United States with her now 26-year-old daughter after she was deported from the country – suddenly died naturally.
Eventually, after noticing visible trauma to the victim’s body, officers were able to extract a confession from the suspect – gaining insight into his relationship with his estranged wife in the process.
“We received a call from a gravedigger about a man who had come to the cemetery and was trying to bury a body without a shroud or funeral rite,” the officer who carried out the burial told AFP on Tuesday. An incident report filed by Nadeem’s department on Sunday shed light on the late-night incident – stating that Christo Khan’s body had visible trauma to his head and bruises to his neck, while revealing more about his past and that of his wife.
In the document, officers described how, when confronted in the middle of the search, Khan – who received a US SSN in 1994 – told officers he previously lived in the US with his wife and daughter. daughter, Karisma, 26, but had been deported after the September 11 attacks.
The date of his eviction was not provided, but property records indicate Khan had homes in Texas and North Carolina as recently as 2003.
After losing his citizenship, police said, Khan returned to his native Pakistan, leaving behind his wife and daughter. Agents said the couple were still married and had been for 28 years.

During his videotaped statement to police, which has not been released, cops began to realize something was afoot – prompting Khan to finally admit to the murder, the incident report says.
At that time, the suspect told officers that he had abused his wife during sex before committing the murder and hit her on the head with a sharp object.
Based on his behavior, cops said they suspect Khan of having compromised his mental health and potentially being under the influence of drugs.
