Katy Perry has an idea or two about who should replace her as a judge on American Idol once the current season ends.
The 39-year-old singer, who kept her cool during a wardrobe malfunction on Monday night’s show, opened up about who she thinks should take the seat between Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
In an interview with MY! News On Monday, the Billboard Music Award winner said, “I have to say, Jelly Roll was crazy when he came on the show.”
“Everything he said convinced me,” exclaimed the When I’m Gone singer.
‘He could run for president, he could be my pastor, I could go back to church for him. He could sell me anything,’ he explained after interacting with the Wild Ones singer, 39, who appeared on the April 8 episode.
If Jelly Roll joined the team, it would be an all-male panel with no women.

“So I love him,” he went on to add, “and having any of these guys plus Jelly on the show would be amazing.”
‘I love you, jelly!’ he said in a shout-out to the singer and rapper.
Perry said he would like his replacement to be “a person who tells the truth.”
“I want someone who is not afraid to speak the truth elegantly,” he added.
Perry said whoever the next judge is will have to have thick skin.
‘Unfortunately, when you are a woman and you have an opinion or you are a boss, sometimes you are also considered a B-*-*-C-[H]”, he said, adding that they would have to be “someone who has a strong sense of self, who listens to their intuition.”
Perry has been subtly hinting that new music could be on the horizon.
As she and fiancé Orlando Bloom, 47, headed to the Breakthrough Awards on Saturday, she carried a clear purse with a scroll titled KP6: Top Secret in a clear glass tube.

When they asked him about it Extra After Monday’s show, California artist Gurls seemed elusive. “I’m just drip feeding a little bit,” she said.
The singer-songwriter admitted she was looking forward to spending time with her three-year-old daughter Daisy, who she shares with her fiancé, and working on other as-yet-unnamed projects.
“Being a mother to me is very important,” she said.
“And I have to create space to be able to do other things that encompass all my energy and my time.”
