Katy Perry rocked another dazzlingly bright and sporty look this weekend.

After making a quick appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival to support her fiancé Orlando Bloom at the premiere of his film The Cut, the 39-year-old Fireworks singer is back in New York City.

The American Idol judge showed off her slender figure in a green 3/4 zip top and knee-length black leggings with the same green design on the sides of her legs.

Katy kept her dark hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail and wore sunglasses as the gathered crowd tried to catch her attention.

The sighting comes after the Roar singer came under fire for both working with Dr. Luke on her album Women’s Work and for “deflecting attention” from that fact.

Fans accused her of misleading them with her lack of response to outrage over her work with the music producer with whom Kesha was embroiled in a decade-long legal battle.

Katy’s partner Kesha accused Dr. Luke of sexual and physical abuse. In 2014, the singer sued Kesha for defamation, but a settlement was reached in June 2023 before going to trial.

Katy’s new album focuses on “female empowerment,” which left many fans “upset” and “disappointed” by Dr. Luke’s involvement.

Fans of the Teenage Dream hitmaker were furious and were not afraid to voice their grievances.

“The way he didn’t even answer the question lol,” one fan tweeted on X (formerly Twitter).

Another wrote: ‘She practically said nothing? Let’s not be fooled because she basically just revealed that she didn’t have to collaborate with him, it was her choice…’

Katy’s response was also criticized as an “evasion of classical principles” and one person noted that she “still chose to work with Dr. Luke even though she’s worked with several collaborators in the past.”

Katy addressed the controversy for the first time on Wednesday’s episode of Call her daddy podcast, telling host Alex Cooper that Dr. Luke is just “one of many” producers who help “facilitate” his music.

But she insisted the album is based on her own experiences, not those of those she works with, before bizarrely turning the conversation to how motherhood has “empowered” her as an artist.

Katy said she understood that her collaboration with Dr. Luke started a lot of conversations, but she hasn’t addressed them directly yet.

“I understand that that started a lot of conversations. And he was one of the many collaborators that I collaborated with,” she said, insisting that the lyrics came from her lived experience.

“When I talk about Women’s World, I talk about feeling so empowered now as a mother, as a woman, giving birth, creating life, creating another set of organs, a brain, a heart,” she said.

“I created a whole heart and I did that. I still do that. And I’m still a matriarch. And I feel very grounded in that, and that’s where I speak from.”
