‘I believe everything is a choice and new mothers should not, under any circumstances, feel pressured to do something or not do something because of what someone else says.
“When you’re a mother, you have to do what works best for you. I certainly wasn’t going to be vilified for choosing formula feeding when millions of women around the world do.”
This isn’t the first time Katie has spoken out about the bottle-feeding vs. breastfeeding debate.
On Loose Women in 2016, Katie shocked viewers – and panellists – by admitting she doesn’t like watching women breastfeed.
Katie said at the time: ‘I don’t like breastfeeding selfies. I don’t agree with people posting pictures of themselves breastfeeding.
“I don’t want to see that, just like people probably don’t want to see my selfies, my boobs and this and that.”
Katie, co-host of The Katie Price Show podcast, continued: ‘If it’s outside, you can’t help but look.
‘I know it’s natural, but I don’t want to eat my dinner looking at a woman’s bare breast.’
Questioned about her own pregnancy photos, which appeared in magazines such as OK!, the model said she had been in control of the sessions and had no regrets.
In the book, Katie writes that while she was pregnant with Junior, she “was under pressure from people to have him naturally and breastfeed him” (both pictured in 2023).
In response to them, Katie says: ‘My reaction then is the same as now: ‘Fuck you. Let me do things my way’ (LR) Bunny, Katie, Princess, Jett and Junior in 2022)
And this wasn’t the first time Katie spoke out about the bottle-feeding vs. breastfeeding debate.
When questioned by fellow panellists Janet Street Porter, Ruth Langsford and Linda Robson, and special guest Kerry Katona, the model responded to her comments about her magazine shoots.
She said: ‘I don’t think we can answer this question because we showed our bellies. The difference is that I knew I was showing them. I was in control.
“I don’t take pictures of my belly to send to my friends, but I can’t sit there and say, ‘No, I won’t,’ because I’ve obviously done sessions and been paid for them. I’d be a hypocrite[if I said it’s not okay to share these photos].”
On Wednesday, Katie showed off the results of her 17th breast augmentation as she stepped out with boyfriend JJ Slater following a This Is Me launch event.
The former glamour model was spotted leaving the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London with JJ, 31, in a stunning ensemble.
Katie wrote in her memoir that she wants to have another baby and has opted for a sperm donor instead of her current partner.
In her new book, Katie tells how she has an American fertility clinic on her contact list and has already chosen the man whose sperm she will use.
