Katie Holmes enjoyed some time off in New York on Wednesday as her daughter Suri Cruise continues to adjust to college life.
The 45-year-old actress, whose 18-year-old daughter is a student at Carnegie Mellon, turned heads in a graphic-print T-shirt and baggy sweatpants as she sipped an iced coffee.
The star completed her outfit with sneakers, a tan bag and sunglasses.
She wore her hair in loose waves and was makeup-free during the outing.
The Dawson’s Creek alum is currently rehearsing at the Barrymore Theatre for the new production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town.

Katie made her Broadway debut in 2008 for a production of All My Sons, and last appeared on Broadway in Dead Accounts in 2012.

She will play Mrs. Webb, the mother of Deutsch’s protagonist, Emily Webb.
Richard Thomas, 73, of The Waltons, will star as her husband, Mr. Webb, and Jim Parson will take on the role of stage manager.
Ephraim Sykes will play George Gibbs and Billy Eugene Jones will play his father, Dr. Gibbs, in the contemporary update of the play that first ran in 1938.

Suri Cruise is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Her daughter, Katie Holmes, told Town & Country magazine last month that she will study acting and dance.

In their divorce, Cruise agreed to pay Holmes $38,000 a month in child support, which ended when Suri turned 18. He also agreed to cover her college expenses, which currently total $68,000 a year.
One of the acting courses available at Carnegie Mellon focuses on the films of Stanley Kubrick, including his work from 1967 to 1999.
These include Paths of Glory, Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, the Oscar-winning 2001: A Space Odyssey and Eyes Wide Shut, starring Cruise and his then-wife Nicole Kidman.
