Katie Holmes let her hair down as she enjoyed a night out in New York.

The 45-year-old Dawson’s Creek star attended the Dave Matthews Band concert at the Northwell Jones Beach Theatre in upstate New York on Tuesday night.

Katie, who recently attended Paris Fashion Week, took to Instagram to share two black-and-white snaps from the concert: her entrance and a photo with Dave Matthews, 57, and drummer Carter Beauford, 65.

She captioned the post: ‘Thank you @davematthewsband for an AMAZING night!’

In the photos, the Alone Together director wore a casual, loose-fitting white T-shirt and a pair of patchwork pants.

Fans of the band commented on a connection between DMB and Dawson’s Creek in the comments of their post.

“And Dave Matthews Band was on Dawson’s Creek!” one fan chimed in, referring to the band’s song Lover Lay Down, which was featured in the season two episode High Risk Behavior.

Another fan commented: “This is so 90s,” while a third added: “So fun! All my college memories in one place.”

One fan commented that seeing Dave Matthews Band live was on their “bucket list” and Katie replied that the concert “was amazing!”

Further down in the comments, someone asked Katie what her favorite DMB song was and she replied, ‘Crash.’

Although Katie had seats for the show where the band played the hits #41 and Dancing Nancies, as well as a cover of David Bowie’s Let’s Dance, she left her seats to go down to the pit and dance with the other fans.

Eyewitnesses at the show said the First Daughter actress was alone at the show and seemed to be enjoying herself.

She was left alone to enjoy the concert like any other fan as she approached the stage.

DMB fans also noticed that Katie’s patchwork pants were remarkably similar to the pants worn by the band’s saxophonist, Jeff Coffin, that night.

Katie’s night out comes as her 18-year-old daughter Suri Noelle prepares to head off to college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Suri just graduated from LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, the school on which the movie Fame was based.

Suri is well prepared to handle life in Pittsburgh after growing up in New York City.

“The city has a lot to offer and I embrace it. Yes, it’s a little exposed at times and it’s hard for us to maneuver and find our way around,” Katie told InStyle. “But what I love about New York is that for me and my son, this is our vibe.”
