Katie Holmes kept a low profile when she stepped out of New York City on Sunday.
The 44-year-old actress partially hid behind a navy blue baseball cap – which she’s often seen wearing – as she headed to her latest performance in the off-Broadway play The Wanderers.
The Dawson’s Creek alumnus — who was previously married to actor Tom Cruise, 60, from 2006 to 2012 — appeared casually in a pair of plaid and button-up jeans.
The Alone Together star kept her head down and kept a close eye on her phone during her trip to the Roundabout Theatre.
Earlier this year, the Broadway veteran returned to the stage for the first time in over a decade to perform one of the lead roles in The Wanderers.

As she headed to the final show in the nearly nine-week run, Holmes styled a pair of ankle-length straight-leg jeans.
She wore a burgundy and blue plaid button-up that she left partially unbuttoned and tucked into her pants.

For jewelry, the mother of 16-year-old Suri Cruise opted for a simple look with just a dainty gold chain.
Likewise, she didn’t wear a lot of makeup to highlight her natural beauty and get ready for the fashion wear.
On one shoulder, she carried two large bags to bring her necessities to the stage.
She was carrying a large bag that featured tan leather, braided trim, and fringe details.
Holmes has also been spotted sporting a navy blue tote bag with sleek black leather straps.

The Wanderers tells the story of a couple from two different worlds, and Holmes plays Julia Schaeffer – a famous character on the brink of an affair with Abby (played by Eddie Kaye Thomas).
According to the synopsis on Ziegler’s page, “Esther (played by Lucy Fryer) and Shmuli (played by Dave Glasgow) are Orthodox Jews who embark on an arranged marriage, despite not knowing each other.”
The plot continued: “Abby and Julia are high-profile celebrities who embark on a dangerously flirtatious correspondence, despite being married to other people.”
