Suri Cruise was spotted enjoying the sunshine in New York City on Saturday afternoon as she prepares to head off to college in the fall.
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s 18-year-old daughter is reportedly just a week away from moving into the dorms at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
On Saturday, Suri looked relaxed as she walked down the sidewalk with a black bag over one shoulder.
She was wearing a blue tank top paired with black sweatpants cut off with a white drawstring.
Suri, who also ran errands on Friday, appeared makeup-free for her solo outing.
Suri Cruise was spotted enjoying the sunshine in New York City on Saturday afternoon.
She is preparing to go to college in the fall.
The teenager’s brown hair was left loose and she wore colorful sneakers to complete her low-key outfit.
Suri enjoyed a brief respite from the summer sun as she waited to board the subway.
She looked the spitting image of her actress mother Katie, with whom she has lived in New York since 2012.
Suri graduated from New York’s renowned LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts earlier this summer.
Her father is said to have been absent from her life in recent years, except financially, but her physical resemblance to him was still strikingly clear.
The school, which is said to have inspired the film Fame, has produced a formidable array of celebrities over the years.
Notable alumni include Al Pacino and Liza Minnelli, Jennifer Aniston and Adrien Brody, as well as newer faces like Ansel Elgort and Timothee Chalamet.
Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks and Awkwafina all attended LaGuardia High School, as did Madonna’s eldest daughter, Lourdes Leon.

After graduating from high school, Suri will now attend the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, where she is said to be “leaning toward” studying fashion.
“She’s a smart girl and is growing into a mature and intelligent young woman,” a source recently revealed to DailyMail.com. “She has a very close and loyal group of friends and knows exactly where she’s coming from.”
Meanwhile, Suri’s mother is said to be “overwhelmed” at the prospect of Suri leaving for Pittsburgh for college. “Katie is very proud of her, but she’s also extremely overprotective,” a source shared.
Katie, who rose to fame on the teen drama Dawson’s Creek, began dating Tom in 2005 and got engaged to him seven weeks into the relationship.
Their Scientologist wedding took place at the Castello Orsini-Odescalchi in Bracciano in November 2006, seven months after Suri was born.
Katie filed for divorce in 2012, which was finalized just 10 days later; Katie retained primary custody of Suri while Tom was granted visitation rights, according to People.
Ron Miscavige, father of Scientology leader David Miscavige, told the MailOnline in 2016 that Katie’s doubts about Scientology, including the effect it might have on Suri, contributed to her decision to leave Tom.
Suri’s mother, Katie, and father, Tom Cruise, are pictured with baby Suri in 2006, on their way to their wedding rehearsal dinner in Italy.
Father Cruise was spotted with a very young Suri on the streets of Manhattan in 2008, when he was still married to Holmes.
Top Gun star Maverick reportedly paid Katie $400,000 a year until Suri’s 18th birthday, and will now send her money for her college fees.
Tom has not been photographed with his daughter in 11 years, and in 2018 it was alleged that he had created distance between himself and Suri.
“Everyone can see his daughter if they want to,” a source told US Weekly. “He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.”
