It’s Jim Parsons, who played Sheldon Cooper on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory.
The revival of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, first performed in 1938, officially returned to Broadway in October after weeks of previews that began on September 17.
Narrated by a stage director, the meta-play revolves around town life in New Hampshire at the dawn of the 20th century.
In the midst of a Spartan setting, the characters break the fourth wall, travel back in time and even return from beyond.
Along with Holmes and Parsons, the revival stars Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Julie Halston, Richard Thomas and Michelle Wilson.
Holmes plays Mrs. Webb, mother of Deutsch’s protagonist, Emily, while Parsons runs the show as stage manager.
Our Town officially closes on Broadway after its matinee show on Sunday, January 19.
And with the play’s three-month run at the historic Ethel Barrymore Theater coming to an end, Holmes took to Instagram on Thursday to pay tribute to the cast and Parsons, with whom she has become very close.

With the play’s Broadway run coming to a close on Jan. 19, Holmes took to Instagram on Thursday to pay tribute to the cast and Parsons, with whom she has become very close.
She shared a photo of Parsons, wearing a black hat and coat, putting his arms around her as she leaned into him with a smile on her face.
“The last days of @ourtownbroadway are upon us,” the Dawson’s Creek alum began.
‘I am so grateful for these beautiful souls who continue to bring Thornton’s words to life. I love you @therealjimparsons.’
Like Parsons, Holmes is very familiar with what it’s like to star in a hit television show.
She played Joey Potter on the teen drama Dawson’s Creek from 1998 to 2003 on The WB.
And fans were delighted to see two “iconic” TV stars posing for a photo together.
“Two incredible actors and two of the most iconic TV series characters for me,” commented one fan, who also left two red heart emojis.
Another wrote: “Joey and Sheldon…never saw it coming but I loved it.”

Holmes’ time on Broadway’s Our Town came weeks after she watched her daughter Suri Cruise, 18, go off to college.
The teenager, whom Holmes shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania.
Suri returned home to New York over winter break and even stopped by the Ethel Barrymore Theater to hang out with the cast of Our Town.
Over the summer, Holmes gushed to Town & Country about how “proud” she is of her only daughter and will miss not having her home.
‘I am proud of my daughter. Of course I will miss the proximity, but I am very proud of her and happy,” the TV star gushed.
‘I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself and I loved that moment, so it makes me happy to think about it that way.’
Katie divorced Suri’s father Tom in 2012 and the teenager is believed to be separated from the Top Gun star, 62.
