Katie Holmes was seen returning to Broadway’s Our Town on Thursday after enjoying a short Christmas break.
The Dawson’s Creek alum, 46, headed to the historic Barrymore Theater in New York City wrapped in a brown trench coat.
The makeup-free star also wore blue flared jeans and black loafers.
Her wavy brown hair was up in a bun and she had a pair of sunglasses on during her walk.
Along with a black leather purse, Holmes carried her belongings in a colorful Hello Kitty tote bag.
Missing from Holmes’ outing was her daughter Suri Cruise, 18, who recently returned home to New York for the holidays.

The revival of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, first performed in 1938, officially returned to Broadway in October after weeks of previews that began on September 17.
Narrated by a stage director, the meta-play revolves around town life in New Hampshire at the dawn of the 20th century.
In the midst of a Spartan setting, the characters break the fourth wall, travel back in time and even return from beyond.
The revival features a more diverse cast and includes Jim Parsons, Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Julie Halston, Richard Thomas and Michelle Wilson.
Holmes plays Mrs. Webb, mother of Deutsch’s protagonist, Emily.
In an interview with Playbill, Holmes talked about working on the show and the new approach to world history.
“He didn’t want this to be a play about nostalgia,” the Dawson’s Creek alum said, referring to director Kenny Leon.
“I wanted this to be a play about the life of the people against the stars, against humanity.”

The close-knit cast and crew of Our Town recently celebrated Holmes’ 46th birthday backstage on December 19.
And her daughter Suri, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, could serenade her with a happy birthday alongside the cast and crew in an Instagram Story post shared by Holmes.
In the clip, the 18-year-old Carnegie Mellon University freshman could be seen holding an old photo of Robert Redford emblazoned with ‘Happy Birthday, Katie!’
Suri traveled from Pittsburgh, PA to see the empty nester perform at Our Town and give her a beautiful bouquet of purple roses.
Holmes gushed about her gift to her 2.9 million Instagram followers: “I’m so grateful for all my blessings, especially my daughter!”
While Suri has apparently been estranged from her father Tom since he and Holmes divorced in 2012, the teen and her actress mother have a close bond.
Over the summer, Holmes gushed about City and countryside about how “proud” she is of Suri and revealed that she will miss her while she is at college in Pennsylvania.
‘I am proud of my daughter. Of course I will miss the proximity, but I am very proud of her and happy,” the TV star gushed.

Last week, Suri Cruise surprised her mother Katie (right) backstage at the Barrymore Theater in Midtown Manhattan by serenading her with a happy birthday alongside the cast and crew.
‘I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself and I loved that moment, so it makes me happy to think about it that way.’
While Katie has kept social media posts about Suri to a minimum, she previously celebrated her daughter on National Daughter’s Day and has spoken fondly about the teen several times.
‘I love her very much. My biggest goal has always been to educate her in her individuality,” she told InStyle in 2020.
‘To make sure she is 100 per cent herself and strong, confident and capable. And know it.’
He added that his daughter “came out very strong; she has always had a strong personality.”
‘She will choose an activity and work hard until she is really good at it. Then he says, “Okay, I’m going to try the next thing.” “She’s very focused and very hard-working,” Katie added.
