The Princess of Wales delighted royal fans last night when she made a surprise congratulatory message to the British team.
But it wasn’t just her unexpected appearance alongside Prince William, 42, that left Brits in awe: the mother-of-three debuted a new hair and makeup look.
Kate, 42, who continues to undergo preventative chemotherapy, looked radiant in her latest appearance, where she congratulated Team GB alongside a host of other high-profile figures.
Makeup artist Joy Adenuga explained that the 42-year-old royal conveyed a “relaxed and approachable demeanor” through her “bronzed highlights” and “understated yet refined” makeup look.
Speaking to FEMAIL, the expert said Kate’s look exudes a sense of “effortless elegance that aligns perfectly with her role.”
The Princess of Wales exuded ‘elegance’ with her new hair and makeup in the video in which she praised the British team’s athletes for their efforts at the Paris Olympics, according to celebrity makeup artist Joy Adenuga.
In the short clip, Kate said: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.”
The Prince of Wales, wearing an official blue Team GB shirt, added briefly: “Well done Team GB, you have been an inspiration to us all.”
Kate debuted a new, lighter hairstyle for the occasion and a makeup look full of meaning, according to expert Joy Adenuga.
She explained: ‘In the Princess of Wales’s latest congratulatory message to Team GB, her hair and makeup exude a sense of natural elegance that aligns perfectly with her role.’
On the topic of Kate’s lightened hair, Joy added: ‘Her hair appears subtly lightened, with some sun-kissed highlights, giving her brunette locks a softer, more radiant look.
‘The slight boost of color enhances your natural glow, adding a touch of luminosity that complements your complexion.’
Moving on to her makeup look, the expert explained: ‘Her makeup is understated yet polished, with a fresh, natural base that highlights her flawless skin.
‘Using a soft, neutral eyeshadow with a hint of shimmer draws attention to your eyes without overwhelming them, while a light dusting of blush adds a healthy flush to your cheeks.
According to the makeup expert, Kate opted for a neutral eyeshadow to draw attention to her eyes.
‘Her lips are kept in a muted pink shade, which not only balances out the look but also reinforces a relaxed and approachable demeanor.’
Joy concluded: ‘Overall, this look suggests a confident, poised and relaxed princess, someone who is effortlessly elegant yet perfectly in tune with the occasion.
‘It’s a beauty look that speaks volumes about her grace and poise, while staying true to her signature style.
Meanwhile, Laura Kay, makeup expert and founder of Laura Kay London, explained in more detail how Kate achieved her look.
She said: ‘Her new look is naturally stunning and she appears to be enjoying the British summer, as evidenced by her tan.
‘Her eyes are subtle yet striking, defined with soft, fiery brown hues that perfectly complement her tan.
Laura added: ‘She’s enhanced her look with bronzer to contour her cheekbones and jawline, adding a youthful, bronzed glow.
‘She’s also used what appears to be a liquid highlighter to further accentuate her cheekbones, reflecting the light beautifully. This really helps to define her features.
“Her lips now sport a glossier finish, which enhances their volume, marking a change from her previous preference for traditional pink tones that made her lips appear thinner. This makeup look complements her hair, which shows off sun-kissed locks.”
The Prince of Wales also debuted a new look in the video, with the 42-year-old sporting a new beard.
In a companion post on social media on their account, the royal couple said: ‘Well done @teamgb what an amazing journey!
‘All the athletes showed immense dedication, heart and passion. They made us very proud!
‘We’re here to celebrate every triumph at @paris2024 and look forward to seeing more of @paralympicsgb_official later in the summer.’
The Prince of Wales, 42, also revealed a new look in the star-studded video with a fully grown beard.
Former England captain David Beckham also gave a message of support in the video.
He said: ‘Hello Team GB, we are very proud of you, congratulations.’
Presenter Gabby Logan said: “You’ve been amazing. Thank you so much for everything. These memories will last a long time.”
Retired American sprinter and broadcaster Michael Johnson said wryly: “Good job Team GB, you did a great job, not as good as us in the US, but well done.”
Former Welsh athlete Colin Jackson beamed with joy as he told the Olympians: “You did brilliant.”
Presenter Emma Willis said it had been “amazing watching you over the last few weeks”.
Swimmer Rebecca Adlington was full of praise for the British team: “Their performances have been absolutely fantastic.”
Former jockey and presenter Clare Balding said: “I know how much you’ve lifted the nation and I just want to say thank you for that.”
American rapper Snoop Dogg, who has been a popular presence at this year’s Olympics as a special guest presenter for American broadcaster NBC, completed the video.
The rapper said: “Thank you Britain. On behalf of Snoop Dogg, the Prince and his lovely wife,” before clasping his hands and bowing his head.
Kate and William’s radiant video came shortly after an emotional statement from King Charles III, in which he called all Olympians “an inspiration.”
The monarch congratulated the participants for their “extraordinary successes” and praised their “raw talent, their courage and their hard work” in the message, which came just hours before the final moments of the Olympic Games in the French capital.
