THE Princess of WalesThe wedding dress designer is leaving Alexander McQueen after more than two decades.
Sarah Burton became creative director of the fashion house in 2010 after joining the company in 1996.
The brand praised his “exceptional vision and creativity” by confirming that his spring/summer 2024 show in Paris on September 30 would be his last.
Ms Burton said: “I am so proud of everything I have done and my incredible team at Alexander McQueen. I look forward to the future and my next chapter and will always carry this precious moment with me. Her departure sparked speculation that she might start her own brand.
She created an intricate ivory wedding dress with an 8-foot train that Kate wore in 2011 – and Ms. Burton became one of the princess’s favorite designers.

She dressed her for Harry and Meghan’s wedding and in June this year, Kate looked radiant in a red McQueen dress at Royal Ascot.
In addition to Princess Kate’s special occasion outfits, she has also favored the British fashion house for elegant and chic looks during her royal engagements – and even family outings.
Indeed, one of the royal family’s most elegant looks, their clean-lined, gleaming white suit, was designed by McQueen.

The Princess of Wales is known for favoring the British fashion house’s designs, including this stunning scarlet number she sported while attending Royal Ascot earlier this summer.

Princess Kate has worn this asymmetrical white Grecian-style dress from McQueen twice – recycling it for this year’s BAFTAs.

During an official visit to Bletchley Park in June 2014, the princess opted for a white and navy McQueen dress with military-style details.
