The Academy Award nominee, 45, recalled her time on the “very dramatic set” while hanging out with co-star Jenna Ushkowitz at their party between brothers podcast with brother Oliver Hudson.

“Well, you know, when you have all those personalities and all that talent and all that youth and all that hormones… it’s youthful and young,” she explained.

Although the cast was “all very close,” Ushkowitz, 37, acknowledged, “Yes, we all have our fights.”

“But we really were a family and it was easier to get along than not,” he said.

Ushkowitz added: “As dramatic as it was, and it’s so interesting to hear you say that, Kate, there are so many moving parts of our show, so many cast members and so many personalities.”

Kate agreed, as she also theorized that the on-set drama had to do with how “huge” the show had become.

“You’re all like a little young family and, of course, within that, you’ll have all the things that come with it,” he said.

The glorious artist continued: ‘The other thing is that you had an extraordinary talent on that show.

“There’s a reason why it can sometimes be difficult to work with very talented people: They can be intransigent,” he said.

“They really believe in themselves,” Hudson added. “They know what they have to offer, so, you know, you have all that in one room and there will be some fun drama.”

Kate starred in the fourth season of the Fox musical series (2009-2015) as Cassandra July, Rachel’s (Lea Michele) tough dance teacher at New York University.

The actress said that Cassandra was “honestly one of the funniest characters I’ve ever played because she was so bad.”

She is currently preparing to release her debut album Glorious this year, following the release of her singles ‘Talk About Love’, ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Gonna Find Out’.

Ushkowitz, who rewatches and recaps Glee with co-star Kevin McHale on their own podcast And That’s What You REALLY Missed, said the experience has been “strange, cathartic and therapeutic all at the same time.”

Other cast members, including Samantha Ware and Heather Morris, have previously opened up about mistreatment on set by Michele, 37.

The Glee cast has also faced tragedy and loss over the years, after co-star and Michele’s ex, Cory Monteith, died of an accidental drug overdose at age 31 in 2013.

In 2018, Mark Salling committed suicide at age 35, weeks before he was to be sentenced on child pornography charges.
