Kate Hudson is ‘shocked’ to learn that her Fool’s Gold co-star Matthew McConaughey may be running for Texas governor
She starred with Matthew McConaughey in How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Fool’s Gold.
But Kate Hudson had no idea that the actor was playing with an attempt to get political office, and is considering throwing his hat in the ring to become the next Texas governor.
“This is really shocking to me,” she said to Rob Lowe during a performance on his Literally! podcast on Wednesdays.

Hudson, 47, was taken by surprise when Lowe, 57, asked her if she ever wanted to help her co-star with his governor campaign.
“That was a long pause,” Lowe said, looking for words. “May I say for the record, that was a really long pause.”
‘I haven’t heard this. This is the first time I’ve heard of McConaughey getting into politics, ”Hudson replied.

“You probably wouldn’t get a politician who would care as much as he did, you know? I think he’s very authentic … but the Texas governor is a big job, ‘she noted (pictured in 2003)
Nevertheless, she seemed to endorse McConaughey’s political ambitions.
“You probably wouldn’t get a politician who would care as much as he did, you know? I think he’s very authentic … but the Texas governor is a big job, ”she noted.
“I really feel like he would have a real chance,” added Hudson.
McConaughey, who lives in Austin, Texas with his family, has said publicly that a run for Texas governor in 2022 is a “ real consideration. ”
And Politics reported earlier this month that the star has called “influential people in Texas political circles, including a moderate, moderate Republican and energy CEO.”
