However, Kate hit back at the cruel comments, explaining that there were several reasons for her changing figure, including a six-week stay in hospital.

Roy has enjoyed his own successful career as a director, working on major British film hits such as Inspector Morse and Cracker. His most recent directing work was on an episode of A Touch Of Frost in 2006.
