Karl Stefanovic has made sure his wife Jasmine has been enjoying the best that Paris has to offer as the Today show host is in France for Nine’s Olympics coverage.

On Sunday, the couple headed to the exclusive Girafe Restaurant, which requires a Game Pass to enter.

Jasmine smiled alongside Karl in a photo shared on Instagram, with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

“The Giraffe is with you. Thank you @channel9 for a lovely dinner,” she wrote in the caption, indicating that the couple had dined out on the network’s diner money.

This pricey restaurant offers caviar for up to €650 (AUD1,075) and main courses for between $60 and $70.

It offers ‘gourmet seafood dishes in a luxury restaurant with a terrace and views of the Eiffel Tower’.

Not everyone was happy with the post, with one comment on Instagram reading: “I’m sure all the people who have just been fired from Channel Nine will be happy to see you eating at the most expensive restaurant in Paris paid for by Channel Nine.”

Others defended the couple, with one commenting: “They are working so hard in Paris 24/7. Either be nice and happy or don’t comment at all.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

Karl, Jasmine and their daughter Harper have a great time accompanying the TV presenter to the Paris Olympics.

Jasmine, 40, has shared photos on social media showing the luxurious accommodation they appear to have secured thanks to an apparent sponsorship from Airbnb.

One photo showed Karl and Harper, four, lounging on the daybed and another showed a spacious bedroom, with a king-size bed and a stunning view of the city.

Jasmine captioned the photos: “A lovely welcome to Paris from @airbnb. Thank you for hosting us during the Olympics.”

“We have already created amazing family memories. It truly feels like a home away from home #airbnbpartner.”

Meanwhile, Karl, 49, shared a clip on Instagram showing him carrying a French baguette and a jar of Vegemite into the Airbnb apartment the family are promoting.

She made an exaggerated gesture in front of the camera as she shamelessly spread the mixture on bread while enjoying herself on the apartment’s balcony.

Karl then toasted the camera with his baguette as he cut a slice for Harper.

He wrote in the caption: ‘Late nights and early mornings for this proud Australian in Paris.

“I’m so grateful to be here covering the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It’s a joy to have my family here with me thanks to Airbnb. I can’t wait to see our team do their job. Go Australia!”

Daily Mail Australia understands that while Karl stayed in accommodation provided by Nine, Jasmine and her family stayed on Airbnb.

“Karl is staying in the same accommodation as Nine staff. He has a young family and works difficult hours. They were offered an Airbnb because Jasmine has also partnered with them,” a Nine spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

Meanwhile, angry viewers have been unhappy with Karl’s reporting on the Olympics, with many Australians taking to social media to criticise Channel Nine’s coverage of the Paris Olympics.

Thousands of Australians woke up in the early hours of Saturday morning to attend the opening of the Paris Games, and had to wait hours until the Aussies finally showed up because they are the 2032 host nation, and Olympic protocol dictates they were the third-to-last nation to show up.

Viewers were unimpressed with Nine’s handling of the opening ceremony (and Karl’s commentary in particular), accusing him of talking over important and entertaining parts of the ceremony and many took to social media to ask him to shut up.

This comes as hundreds of jobs are to be cut at Nine Entertainment, including roles in the high-profile television news division, resulting in a staff strike.

In June, Nine Entertainment CEO Mike Sneesby announced the staff cuts as part of a $30 million cost-cutting plan for the company.

“Of our national team of almost 5,000 people, around 200 jobs are expected to be impacted across Nine, including some vacant and casual roles that will not be filled,” Sneesby said.
