Karl Stefanovic’s very surprising career change revealed as Today host undergoes intensive police training

Karl Stefanovic swapped his breakfast show microphone package for a police car radio on Monday morning as he made a very surprising career change.

The Today presenter, 49, underwent intensive police training in an exciting segment on the Network Nine show.

After jumping into a police car to go on a “chase” around Sydney with another police officer, the media personality was able to try his luck behind the wheel.

With a sergeant sitting in the passenger seat of the police vehicle to guide him, Karl could be seen speeding around a series of traffic cones.

At some crucial moments, the TV presenter appeared to lose control of the vehicle before stopping it again as the police officer laughed at his antics.

Karl recently went head-to-head with Sydney dating guru Jana Hocking after she claimed Australian men are “failures”.

The pair crossed paths earlier this month when the glamor columnist complained in an article for Daily Mail Australia that Australian men on the dating scene are often overweight, unkempt and poorly dressed.

Jana doubled down on her belief that Australian men are “failures” during an appearance on the Today show, telling hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo: “They’re just lazy.”

Jumping into a police car to go on a “chase” around Sydney with another police officer, the media personality was able to try his hand at the wheel.

‘They go to appointments in shorts, if you go to an appointment. Because first they will tell you: “Just come to my house.” Like I’ve never had so many Uber eats in my life!’ she wailed.

Jana also complained that the men would invite her to meet them at the pub and then spend the night watching football or cricket on television.

Karl was not convinced and interjected: “But isn’t it a good date?”

With a sergeant sitting in the passenger seat of the police vehicle to guide him, Karl could be seen speeding around a series of traffic cones.

‘No! That’s a horrible quote!’ Jana exclaimed and added: ‘We live near the beaches. We have art galleries!’

‘Who wants to go to an art gallery?’ Karl sneered. “You’re not going to find a real man who wants to do that.”

Jana proceeded to implore Australian men to “up their game” by wearing cologne, controlling bad breath and brushing their teeth regularly.

However, Karl refused to budge and concluded the segment by declaring, “I still think Australians are the best.”
