Karl Stefanovic was treated to an unwelcome sight when he recently made a video call.

“I got a call this afternoon from Karl Stefanovic who said he called you to congratulate you and picked you up while you were in the shower,” Phil explained to Ray during the commentary.

“Do you answer the phone while you’re in the shower? Is that what you do? Did you know it was a FaceTime call?’ he joked.

“I think he’s seen it all,” Phil added amusedly.

“I think I said to him, ‘I’m just getting ready to take a shower and go to work. Do you mind?” he added.

“I don’t know what I was doing with the soap, dropping the damn thing,” Ray said with a laugh.

Ray is a Channel Nine star and respected rugby commentator often referred to as ‘The Voice of Rugby League’.

The 78-year-old is an Order of Australia recipient who started his career all the way back in 1974.

In 2011, a bronze statue of Ray was erected in his hometown of Junee and in 2019 he was inducted into the National Rugby League Hall of Fame.
