Karl Stefanovic surprised his fans on Thursday when he debuted a surprising new look.
The Today show host, 50, was unrecognisable in a social media post where she showed off a striking purple suit and a deep fake tan.
He also sported a huge facial scar, a receding hairline and a new slicked-back hairstyle.
Karl dared to leave his white shirt unbuttoned for the photos, revealing a hairy chest, and completed his look with black suspenders, matching trousers, a dark leather coat and white loafers.
Posting to the official Instagram today, Karl revealed in the caption that the new look was a tribute to Binge’s upcoming streaming series The Penguin, which is set to premiere on Friday.
Karl’s appearance was identical to the character played by Colin Farrell in the new series, which picks up a week after the events of 2022’s The Batman.
The flamboyant Today presenter posted a gallery of images on the news channel posing as the “supervillain”.
In one of the snapshots, Karl is seen reclining “gangster-style” on the hood of a purple Maserati, in which he was showing off a fake “double chin.”

Fans seemed to enjoy the Today Stars’ tribute to the Penguin, with one follower posting: “This is hilarious. Kingpin Karl.”
“Batman is not ready for this,” another added.
“Oh my god. So funny. You made my day,” another fan commented.
For the series, actor Colin Farrell, 48, wore a prosthetic suit and used heavy makeup to transform himself into Batman’s hated foe.

The Today host showed off his dad bod in a pair of football shorts as he walked along the sandy shore, dragging a boogie board behind him.
Enjoying the spring sunshine, the breakfast show host spent some quality time with his wife Jasmine, daughter Harper and sister-in-law Jade Yarbrough.
Jasmine, 40, had her hands full as she carried the family lunch for the day, shielding her face from the sun with a white cap pulled low.
She put on a loose white shirt and showed off her slim legs in a short black skirt as she trudged through the sand with a towel over her shoulder.

Meanwhile, Jade, 31, was a doting aunt as she carried three-year-old Harper on her hip while sporting tight black sportswear.
Harper is the only child Karl shares with Jasmine, as the media personality has three other children, Jackson, Willow and River, with his ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn.
The little girl looked adorable in a pink swimsuit that perfectly matched her wide-brimmed hat.
Karl and his family returned to Australia two weeks ago after a luxurious European getaway following the Paris 2024 Olympics.
They made the most of their time in Europe and enjoyed a holiday in the sun after Karl appeared from Paris for Channel Nine’s coverage of this year’s Olympic Games.
They travelled to Saint Tropez, a popular celebrity destination, where Karl was reported to have held a “top secret” 50th birthday party with a sky-high price tag.
According to Woman’s Day, Karl booked a luxury hotel and invited celebrities such as James Packer and Anthony Bell; the party cost a whopping $200,000.
The party was reportedly ’70s-themed, and Karl’s wife Jasmine showed off her new designer dresses at the epic bash.
