Karim Benzema has spoken again about the potential of Kylian Mbappe making a move to Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and has yet to strike a new deal in France as the situation becomes increasingly dangerous for his current club.
The PSG hierarchy won’t be happy to see Benzema push his French team-mate to Madrid, who has long been interested in securing the services of one of the most talented youngsters in the game.
Karim Benzema has again encouraged Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid this summer zomer
The 22-year-old will enter the final 12 months of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain
“If he could come to Madrid, that would be ideal,” Benzema said BFMTV.
“All the great players want to come to Real Madrid someday, so I hope that will happen soon, at least if he wants to leave PSG, which is also a good team.”
Benzema, who only recently returned to the French national side, described Mbappe as a player who “knows how to do everything”.
Earlier this week, the Madrid forward again speculated that uncertainty over Mbappe’s future could lead to a move to Spain.
The 33-year-old was in stunning form for his club last season as he scored 30 goals in all competitions, and it appears he is not worried he could be sidelined if Madrid make a big transfer this summer.
Benezma recently returned to the French squad for the European Championship after a fantastic season
“I don’t know what will happen, but Mbappe would be welcome at Real Madrid,” Benzema said in an interview with M6info. Brand.
“He is a player who has all the qualities to become a Madrid player in the future, I hope so.
He praised Mbappe’s ability, but refused to get carried away with comparisons between the 22-year-old and himself.
‘I don’t like to compare. He is still a young player, a phenomenon,” said Benzema.
“I’ve already been able to train next to him, we play with one touch, he has movements, puts a lot of speed and has skill in the face of the target. He’s a very, very good player.’
The future of Mbappe’s club may be uncertain, but his entire focus for the coming weeks will be on France
