Karim Benzema was in no mood to talk about Kylian Mbappe after his compatriot snubbed Real Madrid in favor of PSG on Saturday.
Before signing his new three-year deal worth £650,000 a week, Mbappe entered into advanced talks with the Spanish giants and long flirted with a move away from PSG.
But in a surprising U-turn, the three-time Ligue 1 Player of the Year decided to stay in his hometown and turn down Real Madrid, even though they reportedly matched PSG’s offer.

The compatriots were close to becoming club-mates until Mbappé snubbed their move to Madrid.
Benzema hinted that Mbappé’s decision was a betrayal earlier this week when he posted a cryptic reference to Tupac Shakur on Instagram.
However, he has now described Mbappe’s transfer saga as a “little thing” compared to Real Madrid’s crucial Champions League final against Liverpool this weekend.
When asked about his international teammate in an interview with movistar, Benzema replied: ‘Mbappe? I would say that [Real Madrid] They are going to play the Champions League final and this is not the time to talk about those little things.
The Frenchman has been in top form this season scoring 44 goals in all competitions.
‘No, I prefer not to speak. I’m not angry.
“I’m focused on the Champions League final. It’s more important to do this than listen to other things.
Benzema may be determined to keep his mouth shut about Mbappé and PSG, but LaLiga have taken the opposite approach, issuing a damning statement this week to UEFA to disparage the 23-year-old’s decision.
Mbappe’s new three-year deal at PSG is reportedly worth £34m per year
The governing body claimed that by offering Mbappe the staggering £34m a year contract, the French giants now “threaten the economic sustainability of European football”.
However, it is no surprise that Benzema prefers to focus on football after his successful 44-goal season in all competitions.
The Frenchman has scored 15 Champions League goals for Real Madrid en route to the final, netting 10 in the round of 16 alone.
